h. VCU Assembly

Potential Faults due to wrong assembly: -

* LIMP Home can get falsely triggered repeatedly if the VCU ground is not in place. Even loose connection can cause the LIMP Home to be triggered intermittently. 

* Mounting Bolt has to be checked; It should be present (check carefully during PDI) and properly tightened.

* VCU Ground Bolt broken.

VCU failure: -

In case of VCU failure in field,

 New unpaired VCU shall be replaced in vehicle

 Then Connect OBD tool to vehicle

Push Start Stop Button to Switch on the vehicle 

Enter 8 Bytes, 5 IMMO Configurations(16 digits each) manually  in VCU by OBD tool ( No need)

 Enter VIN of vehicle in VCU via OBD tool

 VCI : VCU -> Adjustments : VCU Authentication => 01 (Enable)

Pair BMS 1&2 as per process

Push Start Stop Button to Switch off the vehicle

 Remove OBD tool

Push Start Stop Button to Switch on the vehicle 

NOTE: If VIN is not entered in VCU, Fast charger will not work

NOTE: As of now IMMO configurations are coming from Supplier side, if in future it changed, then only 5 IMMO configurations need to write via VCI Tool.

VEHICLE CONTROL UNIT (VCU)

REMOVAL

Power "OFF" the vehicle.

Remove the front upper cover.

Remove the VCU bolts (2 nos.).

 

Lift up the VCU and unlock the VCU 64P connector by pressing the clip.

Disconnect the VCU 64P connector.

 

INSTALLATION

Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

 

NOTE:

• Exercise due care while connecting the VCU 64P connector to avoid damages to VCU pins.

• While installing the new VCU follow the pairing process.

VCU Flashing Procedure Video and process is illustrated herewith.

 

Mandatory Verification: Firmware Version on VCI tool once mass flashing starts.  Note: - VCI Application Software is installed on the laptop.   Note: - The VCI tool is the medium between vehicle and the software on the laptop i.e. VCI application and through it with the Vehicle software on the Cloud of IT (HMCL)

Till this point is one time activity for any Dealership if there is any Firmware update in the VCI tool (will be informed by EMBU – After Sales and/or Vendor)

 

Connect the VCI with the vehicle and vehicle should be either switched ON or Portable Charger should be connected.

 

Note: - understand what is wrong push which can damage the DLC coupler and non – shorted pigtail

 

Post flashing following points need to be checked by the service executive: -

1. Software version in VCU 

2. Range updated Value in TFT 

3. DTC Need to be erased 

4. Switch OFF & ON, Modes need to be checked 

5. Motor ON Status needs to be checked  

6. Charging FC & Portable charging to be checked 

7. Cruise Switch
