a. Safe Riding Tips

Do's

• Always conduct simple pre-ride inspection (Covered in this Owner's Manual; separate chapter) also called daily safety checks.

• Familiarize yourself well with the starting, acceleration and braking of the vehicle.

• Ensure the Kill Switch is at "OFF" Position.

• Always wear a helmet (ISI marked) with chin strap securely fastened and insist on a helmet for your pillion rider.

• While riding, keep your leg closed and sit in a comfortable position.

• Ride defensively and at a steady speed (between 40-50 km/hr).

• Respect road signs and obey traffic rules for your own safety and that of others on the road (Covered in this Owner's Manual; separate chapter).

• Give way to others on the road and signal before you make a turn.

• Take care of loose/hanging clothes while solo/pillion riding.

• During night time, dip headlamps of your vehicle for oncoming traffic, or when following another vehicle.

• To stop the vehicle (in integrated brake system), press the rear brake lever for the application of front and rear brakes simultaneously. However, for more effective braking, it is advised to apply both front and rear brake simultaneously, keeping the throttle in close position.

• To make yourself more visible, wear bright reflective clothing that fits well.

• Get your vehicle serviced regularly by the VIDA Authorized Workshop.

• Always choose the appropriate riding mode. Eco mode is recommended for defensive riding and longer battery life.

• Always accelerate without applying brakes. This is usual tendency of riders in Internal Combustion Engine vehicles.

• This is Silent vehicle. Hence one needs to be very careful while applying throttle to save oneself from falling.

Don't

• Avoid sudden acceleration, braking and turning of your vehicle.

• Concentrate on the road and avoid talking to the pillion rider or others on the road.

• Do not attach large or heavy items to the handlebars.

• Never use cell phone while riding the vehicle.

• Never ride under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any other form of intoxication.

• Do not litter the road.

• Riding at proper speed and avoiding unnecessary acceleration and braking are important not only for safety and low battery power consumption, but also for longer life

of the vehicle.

• Do not cross the continuous white/yellow line in the center of the road, while overtaking. They indicate one of the crucial, usually overlooked, regulation on Indian Roads.

• Never take your hands off the steering handle while riding.

• Do not change riding mode frequently.

• Do not move the side stand down (engaged) while riding, as motor will get “OFF” (Covered in another section of this Owner's Manual).

Park/Reverse Riding Mode: -

The reverse is something new. Though the speed is 3 km/hr, we recommend you to be extra careful while you reverse, making doubly sure to avoid collision with any person or object.

Regenerative Braking through Reverse Throttle: -

Regenerative Braking is a new feature which can be activated by giving negative throttle inputs. We recommend the users to use this feature carefully in their initial days of ownership, once the user gets accustomed the feature they can use this feature more frequently

Forward direction vehicle movement can also be practiced during this mode (3 Kmph Max) with rotating the bi-directional throttle grip in a Counter -clockwise rotation (Right Side view of vehicle)
